How it works

  1. 1Choose your sport and your draft slot. Snake order reverses every round, exactly like a real draft.
  2. 2CPU teams pick off average draft position with a little noise, so no two mocks play out identically.
  3. 3The quick version runs in your browser with no account. Signed-in members get full-length drafts, 10- or 12-team leagues, and saved boards.
  4. 4After a full draft, mock draft history shows where you reached and where you took value.

Scoring formats & data freshness

CPU picks follow average draft position from Sleeper's public draft data, refreshed on a schedule — not live during a real draft window. ADP is a market average, so early-offseason numbers move a lot. Positions and roster slots follow standard snake-draft conventions; the simulator does not model your league's custom scoring, keepers, or auction rules.

This page explains general strategy and how the tool reasons. It is not a real-time recommendation service, and nothing here guarantees player performance or league results.

The turn is the whole lesson

Draft from slot 1 and you get an elite player, then wait twenty-two picks. Draft from slot 6 and you pick twice in quick succession every round. Running the same league size from both ends is the fastest way to feel why slot-1 managers plan two rounds ahead and mid-slot managers plan in pairs. Ten minutes of mocking teaches that better than any ranking list.

What it does not do

  • No auction, no keeper, and no dynasty rookie draft modes.
  • CPU opponents draft on ADP with variance — they are not modeling your league mates' habits.
  • Custom scoring settings are not imported, so positional value is generic rather than league-specific.
  • ADP is offseason market data, not a projection of this season's finish.

Common questions

Can I mock draft without an account?
Yes. The browser mock draft runs a 10-team, five-round snake draft with no signup. A free account unlocks full-length drafts, 12-team leagues, and saved history.
How do the CPU teams pick?
They draft off average draft position with a small amount of randomness, so runs and value drops happen naturally instead of following one fixed script.
Does it support auction or keeper leagues?
Not yet. It simulates snake drafts only.
Which sports can I mock?
NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
